Tally of federal probes of colleges on sexual violence grows 50 percent since May

Cases of sexual assault are, in many cases, finally being investigated on college campuses across the country.  Federal probes have increased by 50 percent since the Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights released a public list of colleges and universities with possible violations of federal law in their dealings of sexual assault cases.

There's still a ways to go.

From the story: "The rapidly rising total poses challenges for the Obama administration as it seeks to lead a national campaign against sexual assault on college campuses. The students whose complaints sparked many of the cases are anxious for federal action, while colleges want to escape a list that puts an unflattering question mark next to their brand name."
