Blacks, Hispanics more likely to be ticketed after police stops

Black and Hispanic drivers are far more likely to end up with a ticket after being pulled over for common driving violations such as speeding, traffic-light and stop-sign violations, according to an analysis of comprehensive data collected on police stops by the Hartford Courant.

From the story:

Of the 150,000 stopped by police, "51 percent of white motorists...received a ticket, compared with 63 percent of black drivers and 66 percent of Hispanic drivers. For drivers caught running a stop sign, 29 percent of white drivers were [ticketed], compared with 34 percent for blacks and 41 percent for Hispanics.
