Independent groups have spent over $4 million on political races in Rhode Island, the lion's share having been spent on Gina Raimondo and Allan Fung.
From the story: "The sources of the money include the Government Integrity Fund Inc., a Grove City, Ohio-based super PAC that last month gave $435,000 to the St. Clairsville, Ohio-based Mid America Fund. With another $125,000 from the Republican Governors Association, the Mid America Fund super PAC spent $557,420 on a TV attack campaign against Raimondo, criticizing her for her investment strategy for the state pension system and for her support for paying back the investors in the ill-fated 38 Studios video-game company.
