Between 2010 and early 2012, Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie spent $85,000 in taxpayer money to entertain in luxury boxes at various sports venues, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press. The funds came out of a $95,000 account reserved for official entertainment and other on-the-job expenses, the AP found. There are no reporting requirements for how the governor uses the allowance, but two Democartic lawmakers introduced legislation May 7 requiring a written report to the State Ethics Commission on how the funds are used.

From the story:

Much of Christie's spending from the account is used to pay for entertaining at the governor's mansion, known as Drumthwacket. Though Christie does not live there, the state's budget provides money for the property's maintenance, official receptions and "other expenses."
