Superintendents in Massachusetts make an average of $161,133, according to a review of 240 superintendent contracts from across the state by WWLP-TV’s I-Team. For many, the job comes with additional perks, such as thousands of dollars in housing or personal vehicle allowances. Boston’s new Superintendent Tommy Chang will earn a salary of $257,000, but also oversees the largest school district in the state.

The I-Team discovered the highest paid Superintendent in the state is in Lexington. Paul Ash makes close to $279,860 per year. In western Massachusetts, Springfield’s Daniel Warwick is paid the most, $219,096.
