Efforts are underway to recover about $11,000 in pension overpayments mistakenly paid to seven retired police officers, but questions remain about the double-dipping of two retirees who came back to work for the town while collecting police pensions.
In an interview last week, former Town Treasurer Ted Pryzbyla, a Republican who lost his position in the November election, told The Breeze & Observer that he takes responsibility for the errors that were made during his watch but, contrary to charges made by his critics, he never intended to hide the mistakes from the public or fellow officer-holders.
